Our Story
Every great product has a story behind it. Ours begins with our company founder, Myrna Alpern, whose aged mother loved to read, but had such a struggle to hold a book, she nearly gave up her favorite pastime. Myrna Alpern invented a book holder that she called, "The BookBuddy" for her mother. Determined to help, Myrna developed the Original BookBuddy book holder for her mother in 1999. The book holder design was created like a pillow.  Her book holder design made it easy to hold both hard and soft-cover books, thus sparing her mother's arthritic hands and arms undue stress.

The Original BookBuddy™ book holder  was a hit with her mother and reading in comfort had returned to her life! The Original Book Buddy™book holder was also a hit with everyone else who tried it. Avid readers of all ages recognized a great idea and asked for one. Myrna started a company and named it after her grandmother, Amanda Crawford.
